LWVMN State Council meeting will be Saturday, April 25th in Golden Valley!  The Council will contain an abundance of information to help our local League and its committees and interests. Civic Literacy 101 - Judicial Branch - March 10

Civics affects us every day, but its mechanics is often ignored or forgotten. Educating (or re-educating) yourself on the structure and rules of the government gives you the ability to become part of the decision-making process and create a positive impact on your government. Join us for the third part of this series which covers the Judicial Branch of our government.

The United States is renowned for having one of the most sophisticated judicial systems in the world. Everyday thousands of people, including law enforcement officers, lawyers, judges, and government officials take part in this system, hoping to settle disputes and work for justice.

How Are Our Cities Addressing Environmental Issues? - March 24

How will cllimate change put stress on both city infrastructure and resident needs?  Do our cities have specific enrironmental review processes? How do 2040 Comprehensive Plans address climate change?  These and other questions will be addressed by Mayors or City Council members from Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood and Roseville.  Tuesday, March 24, 6:30- 8:00 pm,  Roseville Library Community Room, 2180 N Hamline Avenue, Roseville.  Co-sponsored by Ramsey County Library.  Free and open to the public.

What You Need to Know About the New Presidential Nomination Primary

Date: March 3, 2020 (early voting by mail and in person begins January 17, 2020)

Polling Place Hours: 7 am-8 pm most locations. Check for exceptions at MNVotes.org.

Location: Find your polling place and learn how to vote early in person or by mail at MNVotes.org.

Why: To vote for a major party candidate for President of the United States

Minnesota Precinct Caucuses

Minnesota's precinct caucuses will be held on February 25, 2020 at 7 pm.  Precinct caucuses are meetings organized by political parties to endorse candidates and build party platforms prior to general elections.  You can find where your local precinct caucus will be held by using the Precinct Finder Tool at mnvotes.org.
